| “How Can I Keep From Singing?” That is what Wimberley vocalist Lee Colee’ is asking when you talk to her about the upcoming holiday season. It is also the title of her newest concert series to be presented at the Opera House.
“I am really looking forward to this one especially because I’ll be working with one of the best musicians in the country, Suzanne Daniels, at the piano. I will be sharing some great new songs, some special musical memories and just presenting some gorgeous music in an intimate and beautiful venue.” Colee’ said. A vocalist with national credits in musical theatre, opera, voice overs, recording, cabaret and teaching and directing, Lee Colee’ and her husband, Ray Atnip have made Wimberley, Texas their home for the past six years. Colee set up a private voice studio and small business and has performed a special Holiday concert in Wimberley for the last six years when she decided to offer a New Year’s Eve alternative celebration to local residents and to the surrounding area. Since settling in the Hill Country, Lee Colee’ has directed and produced over 25 theatre and cabaret productions and appeared in Austin last year with Esther’s Follies. Many theatre patrons remember her performance as Lizzie in a recent production of 110 in the Shade in whichAustin American Statesman entertainment editor, Michael Barnes stated, “Firecracker Colee’-Atnip played her to near perfection with a voice that could bless any Rodgers and Hammerstein style musical with a fine attention to psychological detail.” Tickets for Lee Colee’s Christmas Concert can be purchased at the Grand Opera House by calling 830-278-4184.
