Real County Commissioner’s Court held it’s regular meeting this morning. The commissioners took no action on the burn ban, fireworks regulations or Declaration of local disaster regarding fireworks. Real County does not have a burn ban in effect and fireworks will be permitted for the holidays.
Real County Judge, W.B. Sansom, Jr. opened discussion regarding the fees for the sanitation services. Sansom asked the court if they felt the current $200 fee for septic inspection was acceptable. He said one of the inspectors travels from Harper to do inspections and wanted the commissioners to consider the additional costs of travel. The court decided to leave the fee at its current rate.
Real County Extension Agent, Joel Pigg presented an overview of recent programs. Pigg said he currently has 145 children active in 4-H. Big Springs Ranch hosted a 4-H food show this past weekend with over 30 students participating.
